Be diligent in socializing your puppy for the first few months of a puppy’s life. Even the first few weeks of a puppy’s life are crucial for socialization. A 2017 study found that the socialization process should begin between 0-6 weeks of age.

Take your puppy to different settings and places, and expose your Goldendoodle puppy to new situations and new people. You need lots of variety; don’t just bring your dog around the same groups of people or the same places every time. Make sure that your puppy meets people of different heights, ages, genders, and personalities!

Introduce your Goldendoodle puppy to lots of different people and pets — as many as you possibly can. You can’t over-socialize, but you can under-socialize. A study from the Ontario Veterinary College defined “minimal exposure” as interactions with up to five dogs and 10 people over a two-week period.
Start a daily habit!
Take your dog on a walk every day. Daily walks help keep your dog healthy and happy, and they are a great way to introduce your puppy to new people and new places.
Young puppies get tired soon, so don’t just start walking from your front door. You might end up seeing the same few blocks every time. Drive to parks and different locations around town to get more variety.
Consider puppy training classes
Goldendoodles are easy to train, but you should think about taking your dog to group training classes even if you already know how to train a puppy. This is an easy way to kick start training your puppy and socialize your Goldendoodle at the same time.
